Morning all, a sunny start.
Last weekend we went and had a look at an archeological dig at a nearby bay and they are discussing it on the radio as I type. The experts think it is probably the best preserved Roman fort in Britain which was built in about 4 A.D. They reckon it has had constant occupation since it was built 1700 years ago, and it is still lived in now. Apparently most Roman forts in Britain are just piles of rubble at best but this one is about 8 metres tall and mostly intact although the Germans did some additions during their stay 65 years ago.
