Apparently there was something wrong with your interview. I could reapply after a year when I was rejected in my first application. There are quite a few one I know which reapplied and made it in their 3rd/4th attempt. However, there are also some people were rejected in their first time and they were done.
Go and have a try if you have a British passport, but I doubt some airlines like BA would hire British Chinese which wasn't raised in the UK.
