Have you thought of a Cassutt Racer, sounds like it might suit your needs well.
Cheap to run and easy to maintain, will cruise happily at 160-180mph, hit 200mph S&L and will easily attain its VNE of 248mph in a shalow dive, great for beating up the airfield!
The Cassutt is extremely strong and was tested to an ultimate load of +12g in the US though is limited to +8g and I'm told the racers at Reno have to demonstrate a 6g pull up as part of qualification.
Fully aerobatic everywhere other than the UK as obviously we have a different type of air to the rest of the world.

You need to be a pretty decent tailwheel driver as its a bit on the twitchy side but is an absolute hoot to fly and I love mine to bits!
