There was never any 3 month requirement in JAR-FCL, and there is no such requirement in FCL.740.A It is an experience requirement and once the experience is met within the allowed period, there is no logical reason for any other time period to sign it up. The 3 months that appeared in the ANO was the result of confusion with the 3 month window for revalidation by proficiency check that did appear in JAR-FCL and FCL.740.A. It would appear that this illogical non requirement has migrated into the new book, it is no longer a legal requirement.
I would be amazed (and delighted) if this totally stupid mistake has finally been corrected, and would like to see a reference for the correction. Do you have one?
