But that wasn't a crash, it was CFIT.
Surely more like he was unfit?
Is CFIT not controlled flight into terrain - i.e. accidental loss of altitude (Eastern Tristar MIA) or simply not seeing mountain ahead (numerous).
Thanks everyone else for the interesting answers. Essentially it is not a situation that has occured, but the potential must always be there, whether accidental or otherwise.
And of course there's the Airplane crash into gate 10, 11, 12......
