Fridges without defrost cycles are a lot simpler and with a good compressor can be trouble-free. An Australian company called R P Kirby made compressors fitted to Kelvinator and Crossley brand fridges sold here. Some of these old fridges have been running continuously for 50 years - not bad compared to later models.
