Hello:

I was taught a long time ago to switch off my taxi lights when stopped (e.g. at the holding point waiting for line-up clearance or when instructed to stop by ATC).

However I was told on a recent line check to always leave it on, even when stopped...

Is there a standard practice or is this another case of personal preference?
