In India the pilot community is in the news for all the wrong reasons these days.Its best not to directly interact with passengers, as it is really a no win situation.
In Security queues there are times when some people refuse to give way, the best solution [ time permitting] is to politely tell them to go ahead of you.Believe me other passengers will come for your support.
On the other hand if you show them the PRIORITY FOR CREW sign , they will grumble and pass some nasty remark . Which i am sure we will respond to.
The other passengers will join in against you,the press will get involved and you will be labeled as RUDE.
In this case i guess the Crew had no choice as they were dealing with an abusive/non compliant passenger, who was rightly offloaded and should be black listed.
