WW2 RAF DFC mystery

Hi all,

I had a uncle, Kevin Keogh who flew RAF Pathfinders during WW2 and was awarded a DFC. He died about 15/20 years ago and when his wife died in 2004, we could not find his medals. While looking online recently I found:-

Lot 3752 - British Groups - Sale 70 - Noble Numismatics

which appears to be a record of the auction of his medals in Melbourne, Australia in 2002 which is very strange as both he and his wife were very proud of his award and anyway he lived in Ireland since the war and had no immediate family in Australia.

It's possible of course that there were two Kevin Keoghs in RAF Pathfinders during the war both awarded DFCs but I can't find any online register or listing of WW2 DFCs awarded to check this. I'd welcome any suggestions or tips as to how I might check this.

Many thanks

Garrett O'Byrne
