I think QF will be thrilled if they could assign leave on the 744 fleet at the moment. Prior to the most recent slow down, there was talk of training excess 767 crew across to the 744 just so they could expedite that assignment of leave. Grounding four 744s from April delayed that plan but I suspect they won't be losing sleep over carrying 28 excess Captains and F/Os for a couple of years given how much excess leave there is on that fleet.
For someone who refers to pilots continually as "drivers" and continually complains about the denigration of the profession and specifically the position of a captain....
