Wx in Nth. NZ is definitely British, howling gale and lashing rain.

Mrs. ExS. gone to bed, where the TV is, don't know what to do now as the thing won't end until way past my bedtime, can't be bothered getting the car out to go to the pub, some 8 miles away - and there's probably a Big Screen there - will just have to monitor PPRuNe.

(nothing against The Couple,or Royalty, but do we really need all this ? Must say NZ did a nice line in commemorative postage stamps tho', in the value that one needs to post to UK. )

Don't like the NZ P.M.'s missus's frock - happened to unvoidably get sucked into the local newscast about the event over supper and saw her being interviewed in London. The NZ P.M. has eschewed the Morning Coat rig tho' - not sure whether to applaud his individuality,or lack of respect ? Leaning towards the former but there are times when it's nice to dress up I guess. I haven't worn a suit since I landed in NZ, occasionally a tie, tho' I'd be pushed to put my hand on one right now, and I think it a bit off when our local Mayor doesn't even bother with a tie, let alone a jacket, when officiating at one of the most formal ceremonies that we can hope to experience, i.e. receiving ones' Citizenship papers. A pleasure still to come - maybe we'll have a different Mayor when my time comes !

Just remembered ! There's some sort of game against the Aussies going on here tonight, so maybe the pub's Big Screen will have something to watch after all ?
