from experience of a recent trip from East Midlands to around LHR i would say to commute is almost impossible.The M1 is now a traffic jam from anywhere around junction 11 all the way down to junction 6 for the M25 ALMOST ANY MORNING AFTER 5A.M. so the chances of you getting to LHR at the time you are required to is pretty much nil.Same coming home (especially Friday night) it is not a nice piece of road to be on when youre knackered.Ihave just driven over the MI bridge at junction 24 and it is pretty much static so for youre own health and sanity i dont think commuting would work to well.
