The best way to get a job is to show up with your training complete, and all your paperwork done. As in, you have your type rating, local license, etc.
The more stuff you need (type rating, sim training, license conversion), the harder it is to hire you. The local work permit is no big deal. If they want U, they will get you permit.
Right now in Kenya, there is a BIG shortage of MD-8x and DC-9 pilots.
Coastal is the biggest operator of small aircraft (Dar-es-Salaam). Auric Air in Mwanza, Air Tanznia, TanzAir (or something like that), are some others.
