Self Induced Shortage?
Don't mean to be a kill-joy but perhaps there wouldn't be shortage of essential AEA if we stopped wearing it when not directly engaged in flying related duties? The kit is designed against certain assumptions and wearing it day in/day out for a year whilst gashing around the Sqn, its no wonder there are shortages.
