Just a couple of things:
The Base closures are to do with APD. They would happen with or without union recognition. I am fully with Ryanair on this subject. Govts should decrease or lose the APD or base closures of this type are bound to happen as a result of commercial pressures.
Also, I am happy to hear that some people (notably new entries) seem to have the base they wanted. I am at a base where there are at least half a dozen guys uprooted from their homes and families in STN when they got upgraded, meanwhile I also have met 4 direct entry Cpts who have been promised STN as a base. Not everyone has it as good - and these are things which can be improved. If the ERCs worked they would be the avenue I'd go to, but time has proven they haven't worked well at all.
