@captain-slim, I appreciate your optimism. But let not our naiveity blind us. Like I said before, this isn't the first time I'm applying for the ab initio recruitment. In fact last time it happened, a close buddy was lucky enough to go the whole way and I followed his progress religiously. Unfortunately I never got a reply or regret to my application. But my pal made it to the final 12 who attended the orals. Such was his optimism after the last interview that he started bidding farewell to family and friends only for him to suffer a shocker. Six of them were to be sent regrets. The remaining six were joined by a new batch of six who had never yet appeared even once all through the interview process and were all flown together for training. Well, I guess for you to really understand what he felt, the same would have to happen to you.
