Regarding the Area/Areodrome debate, I have seen Tower/Appr/Teminal/Area controllers at work and I quite liked what the Terminal/Area guys were doing... but, then again, it's all a matter of taste (though being able to look out a window would definitely be nice).
Anyway, that helped me decide.... well, that and the fact that my "other half" did not declare Swanwick/Prestwick "absolute no go" areas
