I believe that would depend on your objective. If you do what you propose, then, you would need to re-validate when you got your TC ATPL and go through the process again
I would offer that if you wanted the FAA CPL for employment reasons and that job did not require an FAA ATPL, you have nothing to lose by doing that immediately, and everything to gain
