I hope this thread doesn't suffer the fate of previous long running threads in being consigned to the ether, for verily I say to you, brothers and sisters, that it contains a huge amount of entertainment, but only if you start from the beginning and read forward.

The arrival of the delectable Sarah Palin into the mix had the predictable effect (start from about Page 100 if you're interested) but I repeat that the thread's value will be seen only in hindsight. I've just spent a couple of hours of my life reading from the beginning, skipping the odd page when it sank into the repetitive pits, and found a few gems that are worth reflecting on. I won't quote anyone by name, just their posts.

Quote:
“...sounds like 90% of the liberal Left-wing mainstream media, ……presumably, failing to prepare themselves in any way for the shock of incomprehension when the Democrats lose, as it has been obvious to most of us they are going to, for some considerable time”
Quote:
“I've said it before and I'll say it again.

McCain 60%, Obama 40% +/- 4%.”

“Not this time, McCain will take at least 38 to 40 states, no contest. In fact I would not be suprised that McCain takes over 45 states.”

Quote:
“I also think that Palin will pull over some Bilary voters.
Good choice by McCain, she already has more Experience than Obama with his limited days in office.
Seems she is not a bull shit artist either like Obama.”
Quote:
“Yup, Sarah Palin is one hell of a women. I'd vote for her in a heart beat. If there is any women who can be the first female POTUS she is it.

She has gravitas and substance and a record in government that leaves Obama looking more like a naughty little boy than the Messiah the left wing press is making him out to be.

The liberal talking heads are behaving in the most disgraceful manner. I think their attacks on this women and her family will backfire badly.”
Quote:
Well I must admit the Palin speech was absolutely what the Republicans and Independents needed to get them fired up for the general election. This coming from someone who thought McCain was out of his mind for selecting her as running mate. I was wrong, I now think BHO and Biden have little chance of winning. Good on Palin. Good on McCain for picking her!
Quote:
I just got back to Detroit from Minneapolis. While there, I sensed real change in the air due to the arrival on the political scene of Sarah Palin.

She hits so many buttons simply by who she is, what she has done, and how she presents herself……..

Democrats will learn that the more they denigrate, discredit, or even expose real faults Palin may have, the more angry they will make the majority of Americans who see her as 'one of us' –
Quote:
I agree XXX, the more she is attacked because she is a working mother and "cannot take care of her family serving as Vice-President or President" the more it is going to backfire into the Democrats face………..the truth is that Democratic Party has abandoned one of its base party platform that has helped to promote women out of the kitchen and into the work force.

Why? Because they are scared to death of Palin.
Quote:
I think you just summed up the East Coast Elite view which is going to lose them the election.
Quote:
So we're all agrred (sic) then, are we? The lady scares the bejzus out of everyone in what we'll call the Obama corner of the ring.

Actually my prediction has nothing to do with Scotch or goldfish. When my poll is proven correct I'll let everybody know how I came up with it, after I made me millions that is. )

Sarah Palin will go down in history as the most delectable VP nominee ever. After the initial excitement, will that make a difference? No. Even the gun-totin' right after they have finished masturbating over her won't be enough to get her over the line.
OK, that one was mine, and I think it's being proven true.

Quote:
Here's a challenge for your absurd generalisations. Find me a post, anywhere, in which I have expressed a belief that Obama would make a better president than McCain, as opposed to expressing my opinion that he will win.
That was mine too and I never got a response.

It's not as though I'm sticking my neck out now when it's all over, and you all know it. This election was lost as soon as Palin was nominated. Obama, ..err sorry, Barack HUSSEIN Obama has become a certainty by saying virtually nothing. I haven't read Sun Tzu's oft-quoted book but I would be surprised if it didn't contain somewhere a quote to the effect that if the enemy is shooting itself, why would you bother doing anything?
