Yes...but if he thinks they are wrong because they are not making the decision from his vantage point (ie the whole issue of safety of the aircraft - factors which come into this are visible to the commander but not necessarily to the cabin staff), it is for him to decide on an overall view. I am not suggesting he discounts their (strong) views, moreover he must take them into account (must take a lot into account - everything in fact), but the whole point of a leader is having someone to decide. It's not yet a democracy in the world of CRM, nor should it become one.
