Similar situation with Swiss LX421 BHX-ZRH on Monday last, STD 0840 but were informed last minute of slot of 1000 due weather ZRH! Pax were given similar options, around 25% of them stayed at the gate asking questions regarding onward connections etc while the rest 'dribbled back' to the lounges. Next thing we know, the captain raced to the gate shortly after 0900 to say the slot was now 0930, boarding ASAP! Luckily we'd already arranged with Terminal Control/PA alternative boarding calls and all went very nicely with all parties more than happy and the flight away within time! Nice to know things DO work well sometimes, and it sets the rest of the day off on a high note!
