| ICAO Dispatcher Certification based on prior experience Lasno, As far as Europe is concerned, you may be able to get a ICAO license in Frankfurt but I do not know what experience requirements are required to be eligible for a short course. However, pending acceptance of your experience documents, you may qualify based on your experience without having to take a full course as per Title 14 United States Code (Federal Aviation Regulations) Part 65. There are a few schools in the U.S. that do this. I know Jeppesen even has a short 2 weeks program leading to an ICAO FAA Dispatcher's Certificate (license) for you in Denver. Go to the Jeppesen web site and search for it. With the ICAO FAA license, conversion to a Canadian, UAE, Malaysia, Singapore and a few other countries authorization can be done rather easily. Certain Asian countries such as India and Sri Lanka have delusional requirements, they do not even facilitate conversions, designed to preserve jobs for the chosen few, but that will have to change very soon given the expansion plans for the next 15-20 years. Until 9/11, you could take the full FOM1 & 2 course at EK College in DXB and test for an ICAO FAA license on site but this has since been terminated. Now all the testing is now done only in the U.S. due to terrorism concerns. If you have a European passport than you may even qualify for a visa waiver to enter the U.S. I hope this will assist you in facilitating your dreams. Good luck!
