New JQ CEO & QF Appointment

Buchanan takes Jetstar reinsJetstar group general manager commercial Bruce Buchanan has just been named as the new chief executive officer of the carrier, taking over from QF ceo-designate Alan Joyce effective 01 Oct.
Qantas has also just confirmed that John Borghetti will remain in his role of Executive General Manager of Qantas Airlines, with responsibility for sales, marketing, scheduling, network, the customer experience and Qantaslink.
However there will be some changes to the structure with the accession of Joyce on 28 Nov, including the appointment of Virgin Atlantic Chief Operating Officer Lyell Strambi to the newly created position of Executive General Manager Operations Qantas Airlines.
Strambi, who also previously worked with both Geoff Dixon and Alan Joyce at Ansett Airlines, will relocate to Sydney to take up his new role effective 01 Dec, and will be responsible for QF engineering, pilots, airports, catering and flight training.
