I put a post on today (mainly as I am still a newbie) and 'the board' encouraged me to. But a couple of hours later, and more than 30 looks, not one person has replied.
I read your post, and see you have been doing it (dispatching) for ages.
My son is looking around for a new post in despatch, and I am trying to help him get an idea on what kind of money he can expect. He would really like to be a pilot, but because of eyesight issues, he cannot.
He is doing his FAA exam and really enjoys the job, which is the most important. But with an eye to the future, I wonder what he can realistically expect to earn ? One poster above said around the equivalent of US$1500 per month in the Gulf. He is in Europe.
Dispatchers really seem like the 'unsung heroes' of aviation. I had no idea they had to be so clever. Yet it's the pilots who get all the kudos seems to me.
