I am so sorry to AB. It seems that Boeing invented the system,B747-200/400 both lost electrical power due moisture in E&E bay.
On a more serious note the E&E bays should be watertight and fireproof,or have fire detection/warning/fighting system. After all they can make subs waterproof, with some exceptions.
