It's confirmed that an RAF Tornado jet has come off the runway as it came in to land at Newcastle Airport.
The airport's only runway is closed, and planes are circling.
Plans to divert flights to nearby Durham Tees Valley Airport can't go ahead, because that airport is also dealing with an incdient.
A Newcastle Airport spokesman says the Tornado had been the victim of a "bird strike", but it's not known if that caused it to go off the runway.
It all happened at 5pm.
A spokesman for the RAF has also confirmed the incident, and says the crew is safe and well.
