Is that better or worse than the nine engine landing in a B36?
The B-36 was not usually landed with the jets operating, as they burned avgas, and at the end of a 40 hour long range mission (yes, some were this long, some slightly longer, the record, as I recall was 50 hours) not much fuel was left in tanks...however, according to my neighbor, who flew these quite remarkable airplanes for eight years, at least one piston engine could be expected to have had ahhh...'problems', and be shut down.
If this thread is moved to the nostalgia section, I will tell you why.
