Organ donation.....a "target" too far ?

Ho hum, yet another reason as to why Gordon et al seem to have forgotten the term "freedom of choice"....and continue with their fetish of "targets" !

Brain-death test dropped to boost organ donation - Times Online

I'm sure this has been raised before, but personally this latest "target" is one too far...more than happy for any bits of me to be recycled.....far from happy about this arbitary "presumed consent" bit !.....hence some interesting views in the piece above.......also, the bit about "diagnosing death is not well taught".....which I find strange after all these years coming from the medical profession....maybe others on here could expand please.

As for "targets"....well it doesn't take much to envisage some pious little NHS "manager" drawing up a graph to show how few organs have been acquired this month and perish the thought of the Hospital not meeting the "target" therefore.

If, on the other hand, they wish to put the clinically brain dead theory through a trial period.....I would suggest the residents of the Palace of Westminster would be a suitable source given they already fulfil the prime criteria.
