I am french and I spent years flying in the middle east in english (my best mate was english)... So even if english is not my mother tongue, I think my english is not too bad (even after a few pints!). I am flying for AF now, and I had to go trough the FCL 1.028... I was hoping for a 'Niveau 6' but that day, one of the 2 DGAC examiners was 'only' level 5, so I could get only a 'Niveau 5' even if my English was good enough to get a 'Niveau 6' (they told me that)...
That's how the system works...
Well the bottom line is that you have to tick the box, that's it...
