I was born, lived in Abu Dhabi for almost 20 years...& now studying in Dubai...I confirm that it is not likely for an Ex-Pat to speak in POLITICS, as this country was built on a Politics Stability...if politics act the way it acts in Europe or US...this country will go into a mess (not my idea, somebody working somewhere in here said it)...thus Petrol Prices will Double...Triple up...& this is what US, Europe & the Far East countries don't want...so they left everything as it is.

The Police are VERY friendly over here, but most of them are not good english speakers...if you've done anything wrong or even Looked like that, you might be asked (interrogated) then Left OR Jailed for sometime for some good reason...don't know about their work & how they do that, but if you compare it with how UAE Nationals are treated in Heathrow Airport or JFK Airport...IT IS NOTHING...I visited NY in Feb. 08, & had a lots of "extra processing" time (I lost my other flight to NC)...why? because of my Arabic Passport.

About Housing; Etihad has some difficulties in the housing in ABU DHABI (not AL AIN - cadet pilot trainig Area-), Etihad is building one of most Luxurios residences in the Middle-East called Abraj Towers where over 3000 EY staff will be situated near the airport, while the others are situated infornt of the Sea in Abu Dhabi Island.

Away from these points, it is a good country to work in, get to know more people from MANY countries, live a Luxurious & very safe life (LOW Criminal records). Trust me AVIATION personnel in this country are WELL paid & appreciated...but nothing is as perfect than somebodies mother (Native) country.

GOOD LUCK
