Assuming you are then, as platinum says the Isle of Dogs is ideal. Beware of grotty areas though, there's still a lot of crime on the Island and there's an interesting juxtaposition between the extreme wealth of Canary Wharf and some of the poverty right next door to it.
I live just over the river In Greenwich and have a 25 minute commute to the Wharf. If cash is a problem, think about Woolwich. It's cheaper, both to buy and rent, although there are estates etc best avoided. But transport links are good and will be even better in a few years as the DLR is going to open there |
