Just to clarify a point. AF pilots, to which I am happy to belong, do not give a chinese fart about being the salt of the skies. They just do the job they enjoy doing, some after a career in the military, some right out of their nappies,others ( my case ) out of regional. No one gave me the job, nor did any of my colleagues get it for " free ". period.
AF, as any employer, sees fit to take whoever they wish. What if they want to dance tango, if you want the bloody job you'll just do it...........or sod off. isn't that along the very " free market " lines I've had the misfortune to read on this site. You should be so happy then.

Not being fluent in french is ............NOT GOOD ENOUGH ! We have Brits, Irish, Italians who all speak flawlessly and certainly don't b...k our n.ts winging about the " high " standards they 've had to go through. They're happy to be there as we're happy to have them.
