Also in Iran, Kharg Island, just before an ill-fated flight to remove a flare boom tip, which resulted in the tip hanging on to the top of the tower by just one bolt!

This was the state-of-the art cockpit for the LN450 SAR 212s which Bristow developed in cooperation with Louis Newmark and was the precursor for the LN400 system in the SAR 61s.
We did a lot of SAR training and responded to quite a lot of SAR callouts considering it was a secondary task. Helicopters were on 15 minutes call to HMCG 24 hours a day:
