The deal about European Aviation taking on MD83 from China last year was actually cancelled and never took place . Somehow this rumour has started again about European taking 5 of these aircraft on , unfortunatly it looks again like this is not going to happen .
Indeed the aircraft have been registered to " Phoenix Aircraft Leasing " and are on the UK data base , presently the aircraft are in Bucharest . However it is not European who are taking them on
Shame though , who knows what European and Palmair will do about replacement aircraft and as we all know the 737 are due to retire sooner rather than later
