Nakata77....How DARE you say such vile things about the S'air staff.
I can assure you that the staff do not pull a fast 1 ova the xmas period. Most diversions happen in the evening in the winter (fog etc...) and i can assure you that we are completely capable of dealing with them then when the managers aren't there! You think they only take xmas off??? Actually we mostly do it all on our ownsome anyway!!!!
With the facilites we have to work in/with (have you seen the ops dept) and the fact nearly everything is manual (PIR's etc) we do a bloody good job.
In fact the role of D.O is that of ops, dispatch, pax svcs (preparing certain elements on the PIL's), baggage tracing, and often departures boarding flights wen we are so short.
Try a day in our shoes b4 u comment....i certainly don't see any1 treating you that way!
