Relevant bit of removal tool below.
No sign of anything in the 'Run' or 'Software' parts of the Registry (d & e), however there is in f & g. ...But I'm doubly confused because although I have
'...\Current Control Set\Enum' with "SW" subkey, I also have 'Current Control Set(s) 001, 002 and 003, two of which also have the subkey but with no instructions to delete (which I am reluctant to do as they all seem Microsoft Audio/Media related, or using such).

a. Click Start > Run. (The Run dialog box appears.)
b. Type regedit
c.Then click OK. (The Registry Editor opens.)
d.Navigate to the key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion \Run
In the right pane, delete the value:
"SSConfig" = "SW.exe"
e. Navigate to the key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software
In the left pane, delete the subkey:
"SW"
f. Navigate to the key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Enum
In the left pane, delete the subkey:
"SW"
g. Navigate to the key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\kmixer\ Enum
In the right pane, delete the value:
"0" = "SW\{B7EAFDC0-A680-11D0-96d8-00AA0051E51D}\{9B365890-165F-11D0-A195-0020AFD156E4}"
h. Exit the Registry Editor.
i. Restart the computer.
