Sorry to annoy you on that one- but they´re faced with hundreds of applications getting in per week. Indeed- the absolute minimum is 1500 hours as per OPS manual- but as you can imagine, they got loads applicants with 2500 hrs+. Additionally, they don´t give a
about collegue degrees to compensate for a "lack" of nominal hours.
