Chris, the Learfan was private venture by Bill Lear after he sold the Learjet programme to Gates. It was going to be built (whether entirely or in part I don't recall) in Belfast a la de Lorean wuth UK Government funding, but was stymied by Bill Lear's death in about 1979. Good looking aireyplane!
