Thanks Gone U/S, I think I saw those ads - through Julie Ross Agency I think - can't quite remember. I've heard about the Qantas recruitment freeze also but from time to time I still see ads for other departments within QF - nothing that I can apply for though i.e. security and logistics managers etc.
