why is servicing chapter 12?
APU 49 ? etc etc
(my guess is as good as anyones but probably due to obscure ATA numbering early on in the early piston engine days)
etc etc
The ATA came up with a numbering system a long time ago but modern a/c have developed systems for which there was no definable chapter. (Hence all the odd numbers) where you could slot in a new system. (take the 777 for example where all the aims stuff is in a new chapter which you will not find in , for example a 737 etc)
