Flying with DVT
I fly helicopters and often spend longs hours in the seat, I had a DVT late last year in my leg, I am not a doctor and a docs advice is always best however it is a common myth that DVT is directly related to flying. It has nothing to do with altitude at all. its all about the seating position and leg movement. Bus, truck and train drivers are all just as likley to get a DVT as a flyer. If I were you and you cant wait for the docs advice I would get down to the local chemist and get some "pressure stockings" and try for an exit row or treat your self to business class. Try to move around alot during the flight as well, and stay well hydrated as well, not with beer!
