Airship,

When it comes to the word "obviously", you must be using a different dictionary to me.

Actually, the most serious problem I face these days is my health, the declining state of which means I am likely to have to retire early against my will.

The second and most annoying problem I face is keeping enough hard-earned cash coming in to keep my own family going, whilst being forced against my will to support half-arsed government funded schemes, like those Squire mentioned, to pay for spongers and scroungers from my ever increasing taxes.

For example, my salary has increased by just 3% over the last three years. My council tax has increased by more than 23% over the same period and now they are crowing in the local paper telling us how lucky we all are and what a good job they think they have done. There has been NO increase in services, as far as I can tell, but an increase in the number of administration staff employed (most of them on protected government pension schemes).

Meanwhile, I have no spare cash to put into a pension fund (if I did, it might be worth next to nothing when I need it). Instead, I am paying out every month from my meagre savings (made before this bunch of idiots came to power) to keep out of the red in my bank account. So don't talk to me about arty farty timewasting idiots on worthless so-called "cultural courses" and trips abroad at public expense.

I didn't vote for the present government or my local MP. If any of them farted on Question Time it would probably the most honest statement they had ever made.

Don't often get to rant but I needed that one......
