Location, Location, Location.
SAS is right:
Our strip in darkest Suffolk. is on the top of a hill, sandy/chalky soil and is flyable after a down pour: just fire up after the rain stops and away you go. All year flying, dawn to dusk.
Trouble is , all the grass strips we want to fly to are waterlogged so we end up visiting tarmac and paying landing fees: Arrrrgh!
Only thing that stops us flying is more than 2 inches of snow.
That's not to say we have to be a tad careful with the brakes on landing as the whole business can be a bit skiddy.
And brushing the mud spray off the undersurfaces can be a pain.
Oh and the mud which gets into the gear microswitches and gives us 'two greens' (It's a trike) can be a bit ring tweaking,
hey but what the hell this is G.A.
But waterlogged? Nah, never.
Show ya sometime: we're on the half mil.
Safe flying
Cusco.
