My folks live in Braunton which is close by....... they tell me that Herc's visit quite often.......
On the topic of Chivenor, a story kicking around amongst the locals is that some high ranking RAF bloke visited Chivenor a few years back for whatever reason and was heard to quote 'What an excellent airfield, what idiot closed it down' ....... to which the reply was 'Actually sir, it was you !'
