I put in a bid for not much money and ended up winning the damn thing! Seriously, I picked up a beautifully built, freshly permited PFA single seater with only 40hrs TT for just over £1500 quid.
I put a cheque in the post, talked to the guy on the phone a few times, but did not actually see the aircraft until I flew across the country to pick it up. The whole affair turned into a bit of a fiasco, but I just managed to ferry it back to base that day (a 120NM X/C). I wrote a pirep about the whole affair, which has done the rounds with a few Pprune friends...
I buy and sell stuff on Ebay all the time, I've bought and sold cars, high value sound equipment and watches amonst other things and have never had a problem.
